I purposely bought a low priced one because I won’t use it a lot. It will, for short burts and with the absolute best carbide blade available take on heavy duty tasks but I wouldn’t recommend it if your tasks are mainly going to be heavy and often. This is really well suited to someone who doesn’t need it very often but needs it when they do have a need such as a tree root (to get anywhere very fast here you must use heavy duty carbide blades for clean wood, not the ones for demolition) and can’t go very long at a time because factory battery gets too hot. Bought after market longer life 6.0 amp battery and it goes much longer. For routine tasks this is a great tool and feels well balanced and maneuverable. The movable shoe is a feature many more expensive ones lack and changing blades is not only toolless but also super quick. For light duty use I don’t see how you could beat this one price-wise or value-wise, especially if you already have a B & D drill or impact driver because the batteries are interchangeable and you can save nearly $30 just buying the sawzall tool itself. For simple tree trimming and other non-heavy duty uses, it works fabulous and as stated will do heavy duty for short time but you can smell the oil heating up after several minutes of heavy duty (very hard tree roots very thick) so if you do that or something similar you simply should pay more up front and get heavier duty like Milwaukee. For the price though, this can’t be beat really. Very satisfied overall. Also, as said weight is good, maneuverability is fabulous and changing blades is a cinch. All standard blades work but the carbide Diablo blade designed for clean wood, not demolition, blew away the competition totally on the tree roots and made all the bi-metal blades I had tried before seem like toys and a waste of time which they were. You really need to choosy about blades here because this isn’t a tool where you can just take longer with the wrong blade. If you do, you’re likely to overheat either the saw or the battery so blade choice is more important I think with this one than a heavier more expensive one. Either battery, the standard 3.0 amp or replacement 6.0 works fine for light and medium duty use.

Excelente producto para labores básicas en el hogar. La batería se ajusto a mis necesidades, dura trabajo continuo de hora y media, con lapsos cortos de descanso. El motor es pequeño pero efectivo.

It vibrates pretty hard and makes my arm sore but it’s easy to use and not very loud

Admittedly, I don’t use this saw on a daily basis, but what I have put it through when I do use it is probably the worst you could possibly imagine.
When we trench in new water lines I use this saw to cut away the roots from the trench wall so we can navigate the trench easier. I bury that blade straight into the dirt when I need to. Today I spent eight hours in the bush cutting a single track dirt bike trail – I hate riding a trail full of stumps so when I’m cutting something in the middle of the track I will attack it directly at the roots, again burying that blade in the earth at whatever angle it is that I need to get the job done. This saw has performed flawlessly through all of this abuse. Some people (mainly my Father) claim that Black & Decker isn’t a high quality brand… I call BS… this thing is top tier in my books. Puts a smile on my face every time I use it. It’s easily one of my favourite tools, and is by far my favourite trail cutting tool. If you tried to achieve what I do with this thing using a chainsaw your chain would be dull in the first 30 minutes of your day. Best tool ever.

Easy to use. Ideal for small projects around the house.

THE DEVICE DOES NOT INCLUDE CHARGER + BATTERY
THE BATTERY + CHARGER COAST (185+155) = 340 SR
THE DEVICE COST OVER ALL 590 RS
IT IS NOT WORTH COMPARING WITH OTHER BRANDS AS WELL ** THE BATTERY IS NOT AVAILABLE ON AMAZON OR AT THE STORE OF THE LOCAL DEALER.
THIS ITEM IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS

Great so far! We just moved for a tiny yard in Ontario, where the neighbors shared driveways, to a 1 acre wooded lot with a bungalow in the New Brunswick. We didn’t have many tools to begine with…we kept getting second hand tools that friends and family would offer, but they’d usually break down. I went out one day and bought the Black and Decker Drill with Power Driver, including battery….I found it at a pawn shop in town still in the package for $50. I was so impressed by it, I bought this saw, two more batteries and a chain saw. Dewalt makes the B&D Line of tools, they also have a great name t’boot. The Drill, Power Driver and Chainsaw work great! The batteries last a long time in the drills and saw, and a decent amount of time in the chainsaw. I recommend getting a couple backups…I see they make a fast charger for the product as well and many different types of batteries. I’m happy with this line…it has many tools to add to the collection. Skill Saw is next…Bring it on Mother Nature! LOL.

I bought this saw to remove small tree bush roots from landscape areas. Works fine. Light weight helps too, doesn’t tire arms and hands so much. Battery gives pretty good runtime even under heavy loads. However, you might find it helps to have a spare battery for more intense projects – I have two others that came with string trimmer and drill.
