I had the 3/8 cordless drill by Dewalt that finally wore it out. I was extremely happy with the 3/8 drill, so I tried to replace it. Dewalt doesn’t make the 3/8 drill anymore. It all went to the more versatile 1/2 inch.
This 1/2-inch drill size is smaller than the 3/8 drill, being smaller it can access tighter or restrictive areas. It has ample torque and lasts a long time with 20V battery. Outstanding drill driver, highly recommend.

I have personally been using DeWalt 20 volt 18 volt and going back to even 12 volt Dewalt Tools in my business I make money with them the 18 volt quarter inch Drive I have bought conversion adapters to use a 20 volt battery on them because I can buy the 20 volt batteries cheaper than this particular tool is replacing a DeWalt half inch hammer drill that I have owned and used for 10 plus years hopefully this one does the job and holds up as well but my belief is it will unfortunately the one that I had I dropped it off a roof last week and it busted and broke the housing and shattered and parts scattered everywhere but the battery still good it was my fault not the tools fault so I’m going to give this above to a five-star rating based on my personal experience with a DeWalt product I would suggest people not buying the off brand because you get what you pay for and with a DeWalt tools they’re built for use that is the key they are built to use..

Love this drill..! It has seriously made all my projects much easier and faster completion. My old drill was really heavy and only had 1 speed – full-on or nothing at all! It was impossible to use on gentler tasks and furniture building. Now, my hands dont get sore, and i can do so many more projects with this drill! I love the varable speeds and modes. It’s light-weight and just the right size to do smaller more delicate projects too. Love that its cordless and hooks onto my belt or my ladder pouch, making it easy to work anywhere. And it comes in its own carry case too, which I’ve loaded up with other tools, making transporting everything to the work area more convenient. Wish I would have bought it sooner! If you’re thinking about trying this drill, you will be glad you did!

I bought this back 9 years back in 2016. Both batteries, the charger, and drill itself are all fully functional. For miscellaneous home improvement projects this drill has been perfectly satisfactory – within its inherent limitations. I’ve used this drill for jobs that really needed a hammer or impact drill: lags into pressure treated, boring large holes, drilling into concrete, setting structural screws, et cetera. While these tasks took longer the drill has met my expectations for durability and performed well. I have also been careful not to drain the batteries, leave them unused for excessive periods or expose them to extremes. For its size this drill has good torque and great controls to prevent over setting. When I finally kill this one I’ll get another – so long as Dewalt doesn’t stop production or pull quality shenanigans.
