As someone who has always struggled with waking up, particularly as a self-proclaimed “heavy sleeper” and someone prone to hitting the snooze button endlessly, finding an effective and gentle alarm has been a long quest. The ecozy Sunrise Alarm Clock for Heavy Sleepers, Smart Wake Up Light with Sunrise/Sunset Simulation has not only met but far exceeded my expectations, earning a resounding 5-star rating. This device has genuinely revolutionized my mornings and significantly improved my sleep routine.
From the moment I started using it, the Sunrise Simulation feature proved to be incredibly effective. Instead of being jolted awake by a harsh, traditional alarm, the ecozy clock gradually brightens over a customizable period (I set mine for 30 minutes), mimicking a natural sunrise. This gentle increase in light signals to your body that it’s time to wake up, leading to a much more peaceful and natural awakening. I find myself feeling more refreshed, less groggy, and ready to start the day without that usual sense of dread or abruptness. For heavy sleepers, this gentle nudge is far superior to jarring sounds alone.
The array of natural alarm sounds is another fantastic feature. There’s a wide selection, from birdsong to ocean waves, that gently increases in volume, further aiding in a peaceful wake-up. Paired with the light simulation, it’s a truly harmonious way to transition from sleep to wakefulness.
The Sunset Simulation is equally impressive. In the evenings, it gradually dims the light, creating a soothing environment that signals to the body that it’s time to wind down. This has noticeably improved my ability to fall asleep more quickly and soundly, establishing a healthier bedtime routine. The clock also offers a built-in FM radio, which is a nice bonus for either waking up to your favorite station or using it for background noise.
The design is sleek and modern, fitting well into any bedroom decor, and the interface is surprisingly intuitive, making it easy to set up and customize. The adjustable brightness levels for the display are also a thoughtful touch, ensuring it doesn’t disrupt sleep.
In summary, the ecozy Sunrise Alarm Clock is far more than just an alarm; it’s a wellness tool that fundamentally improves the quality of your waking and sleeping life. For anyone, especially heavy sleepers, looking to banish harsh alarms and embrace a more natural, refreshing start and end to their day, this is an absolute must-have investment. It’s robust, feature-rich, and delivers on all its promises.

Absolutely love this alarm clock, so many great features on the clock and through the app. Great light brightness, sound quality. I would say real value for money. I got it with an offer but would happily pay full price for it. It is sturdy. Perfect size and the yellow clock light means it doesn’t disturb me when I’m asleep. I am really sensitive to white lights at night and I had to turn the backlight off on my last clock. This one doesn’t disturb me but if I do wake up, I can check the time and get back to sleep without issue.

Pros:
The quality of the light and the sounds are fine. Various types of light, basically the full spectrum of light, all the colours of the rainbow. It can be set to wake up with light and/or nature sounds. It can be set to shut off before sleep with similar features. For instance, you can listen to the sound of ocean waves at any volume with whatever colour light you like at any brightness for 90 minutes or so and fall asleep to that (again, with or without the light on). I like that. It’s sort of a white noise feature for falling asleep.
Cons:
However, it seems that the wake-up light can only be one colour, more or less the colour of the sun. Not blue or any of the other colours. That seems odd.
I wouldn’t want to adjust any of the settings without the mobile app. Not that it can’t be done, but the app is the way to go, hands down. I promise you that my 70-year-old mother would quickly give up on setting the light using the buttons on the device.
Yes, the wake-up light does what it’s advertised to do. But even at the lowest light setting for wake-up, it’s too bright. It’s dim, but when you’re in a completely dark bedroom and a big round light comes on, even if it’s a low level light, you notice it right away. At least I do. The gradual brightening doesn’t increase like a light with a true dimmer would. A light with a true dimmer would be barely perceptible and then it would increase. This light instead seems to have hard-set levels of brightness (e.g., 1 to 10).
I’m sure it works fine for most people, but the brightness doesn’t gradually increase from ZERO, and for that reason, I think it will wake up some people, like me, the second it comes on, even at the lowest setting. It’s not gradual wake-up at all. Some kind of defusion over the light might help, or pointing against a dark wall.
That’s not a fatal flaw, but it doesn’t provide the gradual wake-up affect that I expected.

Setting it up was pretty easy using the app and having up to 4 alarms that will hopefully wake you up and the rest of the household. It has a ton of features and even a FM Radio which my son loves. It has multiple colors that can come on and it’s great for help with waking up but also going to bed as night light. I do wish the brightness had more adjustments and could go lower as it’s still pretty bright when sitting bedside. I also wish the controls on top of the alarm clock were easier to understand and figure out what does what. Having Alexa built in is really nice. Plus the fact that I can control it from my phone allows for simple adjustments and my son can’t mess with it. The speaker is loud and pretty clear and music sounds good on it.

OK, so first things first, I want to give this 4.95 stars. But that’s not actually an option, so it’s got 5 starts.
So far my only gripe (& it’s a minor one) the sleep sounds do not fade out to silence. They cut off abruptly. So I did notice it night one. But night two I didn’t. Hence to 0.05 drop to 4.95 stars.
The light options are more impressive than I was expecting. I mean, I don’t want to wake up or fall asleep to disco mode, that’s not it’s official name, but someone might. I’ve been using the soft/warm light option.
I set the clock up via the app, so I’ve no clue what all the buttons do, but I have to say, the setup process was intuitive & I did not need to read he instruction manual. Very helpful for someone who constantly forgets where she’s left her glasses.
I’ve set an alarm for my working days & a second alarm for the weekends, so I don’t sleep in all day. As a backup, I still have my mobile phone alarms set at their usual times, because once I get to sleep, I’m like the dead (but snoring), so I wasn’t sure I’d trust the eCozy to get me up. But I am pleasantly surprised & happy to ay that it has!
The last two nights I’ve used sleep mode with wind sounds, first time for one hour, second time for 30 minutes. I think potentially 45 minutes is going to be the sweet spot. The soft red orange glow as I’m trying to wind down from the day is very relaxing & not a bombardment of blue light to they eyes. So I think that will help longer term.
I have a number of chronic health conditions, which contribute to my lack of being able to get to sleep, stay asleep, or wake up in the mornings. I’ve spent a small fortune on smellies, gadgets & bed upgrades to help improve my quality of life. This alarm clock so far is a bit of a game changer & I wish I’d bought one sooner. It’s especially lovely to wake up with a soft daytime light when it’s still dark outside, as I feel less gloomy & inclined to just close my eyes again & sleep the day away. Ironically, sleeping in the day is far easier for me than the night. Not helpful unless you’re a vampire or allergic to daytime.
Anyway, I recommend this clock. It’s a fab gadget. Lots of light & sound features. You can set different alarm tones, change the brightness of the light & even the brightness of the clock display itself. Which to me was vital! Last thing you want when you’re trying to fall asleep is the equivalent of your main light being on & shining right in your face. It has a day bright setting, a night low setting & you can choose to switch the clock display off entirely. I have mine on the night setting. It’s not invasive & has not stopped me from sleeping. The last clock I had gave away after a day because the display was so bright it was like sleeping in a bus station!
If you struggle with sleep, or you struggle with getting up in the morning, it is definitely worth your time & roughly £60 to get this.
Oh & I have my phone cable plugged into the clock to charge at night. Bonus feature.

I like to get up before my kids to get things done that require concentration. In the summer, I can wake up at 5 am no problem. The minute it starts getting dark in the mornings, I get sooooo sleepy and will continually shut my alarm off and go back to sleep. Even when I *want* to get up. Well, no more! I bought this as an alternative to the much pricier Phillips one. I love this. It has so many light and sound settings that you should have no issue finding one that works for you. It gets real loud if you need it to! I’ve never used the app because I’ve never needed to. Works like a charm; no more problems waking up! I love how it gradually lights up. It gets quite bright but at least in my house it doesn’t bother my husband who sleeps beside me. It also includes a feature to help you fall asleep where it starts out super bright and gradually dims. Instructions were easy to understand and set up was a breeze. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a clock like this.

I love this alarm clock! It’s so easy to set up and very effective at waking me up naturally with the gradual lighting, even before the sound portion of the alarm starts. It also makes a great night or reading light. I can’t recommend it enough, especially for the price in comparison to other brands.

Great product. Works very well and looks good. Being able to set it up from the phone app makes everything so easy and quick.
The ambience sound effects to help you relax to sleep works a treat and the alarm and light work as described.
And you can’t beat the price for what you get. Highly recommend this product.

Gets bright enough to wake me, has option for radio, ringtone or no alarm sound. Can program 4 different alarm settings. Works with phone. Love that I can turn it off from work if I forgot when I left that day.
