Recently my old cordless battery finally gave out and will not hold a charge, it’s an old NiCad and they are notorious for not holding a charge. I decided to go on Amazon to find a replacement battery, unfortunately it was $45-50 for a battery, so I figured it would be better to get a new cordless. I found the drill and the battery for around $45.00, but after scrolling down a bit I found this listing, and after reading all the positive and negative reviews I decide to give it a shot.
The order arrived a week ago, and once it arrived I gave the battery a full charge (3-4 hours), just like the manual had indicated. Today I finally decided to test the drill, and it performed very well. I drove 5, 3″ wood screws thru a piece of 2X4, and there was no problem. Someone had wrote a review that they couldn’t drive any screws, I’m willing to bet that they did not adjust the clutch. You need to start out at the lowest setting, once the clutch slips move to a higher setting until it does not slip. Next I tried a few of the drill bits thru the 2X4 and it worked fine, just got to remember to go a a steady pace, and back out every so often to clear the material. I didn’t try any other tools that came with this kit, the reason it was stupid. They just ordinary tools if you can’t use them right then don’t buy this item.
The only “negative” I can leave on this product is the bag is very crappy. When I received the order I didn’t think all the tools would fit in the bag, but it did with some extra room for a few more odd and ends. That’s the plus side, however it lacks pockets and the fabric is terrible, some kind of 200 grade nylon (I work for a bag manufacture).
Over all, I like this item, and it was a good buy for the price. I was more interested in the cordless performance, torque, and battery longevity more than anything else. All the other accessories I already have, but for the price they were a nice feature, and a good back up. I only use my cordless a 4-5 a year so it’s perfect for me, but if you are “pro” this is not for you. Go get a Dewalt, they are the best. I hope this helps someone.

The product did not come in a Black and Decker box or case. The battery does not have any charge so we plugged it in right away, it says it should take 3-4 hrs to charge but we’ve already been charging it for about 10hrs and we noticed that there was a red light blinking rapidly. We still hope that the battery was charged so we tried using the drill but IT DIDN’T CHARGE at all after 10hrs. In the battery pack it was indicated that if the light is red and blinking fast it means that the battery is broken. I immediately connected to Amazon customer service to complain about it and I was advised that I ordered a non-returnable product. Like how can they expect me to just accept a non-working tool? I am not requesting to return this unit just because I didn’t like it I changed my mind, it’s because it’s a DEFECTIVE item. Now I need to go through the hassle of emailing a picture and explain the whole situation for them to investigate if I am eligible to return the product. what a joke! I should not even give a 1 star rating for this! I demand a REFUND.

I bought this product four months ago, and I have to say I have used it every single day since then for small and large tasks in our home. I cannot believe it is such a useful kit. We own a boat that requires some maintenance every now and then, and I used it for the boat repairs as well. My previous version was a very heavy drill with a cord that I would avoid using for any tasks. But this one is great, lightweight, and the battery life is excellent. It comes with a variety of other tools that I liked a lot. The only thing I wish it had was a box instead of a loose bag to keep the pack more organized. But considering the price I paid for this, it seems very good.

Malheureusement , je n’ai jamais recu cette perceuse! Tres decue! J’en avais deja achete une lorsque j’habitais a l’etranger. Je suis rentree vivre en France il y a qqles mois, donc je l’ai laisse la-bas a un de mes enfants. J’en ete tellement contente, car facile d’utilisation, assez legere , tres bonne qualite, pratique et durable, qu’en decouvrant la meme a un prix si bas, j’en ai recommande 2. Mais malheureusement, je ne les ai jamais recues! Donc remboursement! Quel dommage!

Honestly, it saved me when I had zero tools and needed to fix five things at once. The kit delivered sort of like a friend who shows up to help you move but brings flip-flops and no upper body strength. It’s there, it’s trying, and sometimes that’s enough.
The packaging looked like it was stolen from a kid’s science kit. I half-expected candy inside. A bunch of tools pretending to be grown-ups. The knife is not bad might survived a few cardboard boxes. The screwdriver heads – all the same size in different outfits. A nice illusion of variety.
It is not a long-term investment. Is it a cute panic-buy that does the job for now. Just don’t bring it to a construction site unless you want to be escorted out.
Final verdict: Does its job. BUT if you’re buying a gift or planning to fix anything more serious than a loose IKEA knob, nope.
